The United Nations Secretariat expresses its deep concern regarding the detention since July 10 of Ivorian soldiers in Bamako.
The United Nations Secretariat reiterating its deep appreciation of Côte d’Ivoire’s contribution to UN peace operations and MINUSMA in particular. The United Nations Secretariat calls for the immediate release of the detained Ivorian soldiers, in the spirit of fraternal relations between the peoples of Côte d’Ivoire and Mali.
In this respect, it strongly supports all efforts to facilitate this release as well as the restoration of confidence and the promotion of good neighborliness between the two countries.
