On Tuesday, September 13, 2022, during the return of the units engaged in the combing and inspection that began following the attack on the Dio detachment, a unit consisting of elements of the 11th Commando Infantry Regiment was ambushed 11 kilometers from the city of Warsi (Udalan), (Sahel Governorate). In the face of heavy fire, the unit made a particularly strong and brave response that forced the terrorists to flee, leaving behind 41 bodies. Weapons, ammunition and vehicles were also seized. On the friendly side, unfortunately, eight (08) soldiers lost their lives during the fighting and dozens of others were wounded and the intervention of the reinforcements allowed the evacuation of the wounded towards the health services of the armies to take care of them.
