The Malian community in Egypt is expressing its dissatisfaction at not being able to meet their authorities who have come for COP27
The two associations representing the Malian community living in Egypt “Council of Malians in Egypt and the Association of Malian Students in Egypt” express their strong dissatisfaction with the Embassy of Mali in Egypt for not having worked for the organization of a meeting between the Malian authorities who had come for the twenty-seventh session of the International Climate Conference COP27 organized by the Arab Republic of Egypt in Sharm El-Sheick and the Malian community which had tirelessly expressed its desire to go to the meeting with its authorities, let us note that the embassy did not try to play its role under the pretext that it did not know its programs.
As a reminder, three senior representatives were among the Malian delegation who came to the event for four days, they are Colonel Abdoulaye MAÏGA / Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Mali, Mr. Abdoulaye DIOP / Minister of Foreign Affairs. Mr. Modibo KONE/ Minister of the Environment, Hygiene and Sustainable Development.
The two associations concerned about the well-being of Malians living in Egypt say they are very worried about this treatment and urge the embassy to do more to maintain cohesion and take into account the needs of their community.
